The actress will play the thirteenth Chapter of the district, President Alma Coyne in «The Hunger games: Mockingjay»
Interestingly enough, Moore’s role in Game Change may serve as a strong precursor to joining the Hunger Games franchise. In that film, she appeared opposite Hunger Games star Woody Harrelson, and Game Change writer Danny Strong is currently scripting both halves of Mockingjay. Plus, add to that the fact that Moore played a controversial politician in Game Change, and her role in Mockingjay makes even more sense. Still, Moore may not be the first person one would think of for the role of President Coin. Some are sure to have seen someone like Glenn Close as a better fit, but Moore is just as capable an actress and will surely rise to the occasion, should she officially land the part. Julianne Moore will play the role of President Alma Coin, the leader of the rebellion against the Capitol, in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2,” the studio announced today. The third and forth installments of the franchise are due to be released November 2014 and 2015 respectively. The second film, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” debuts in theaters worldwide on Nov. 22. The first “Hunger Games” film grossed nearly $700 million at the worldwide box office and analysts have high hopes for the second installment.
