In addition, the network has given series orders to The Following, serial killer drama from Williamson that had been considered a lock from the start. The thriller revolves around an ex-FBI agent (Kevin Bacon) who leads the search to catch a diabolical serial killer (James Purefoy) who has created a cult of serial killers and hails from Warner Bros. Television. Marcos Siega, who helmed the pilot for Williamson's Vampire Diaries, executive produces and directed the pilot, which co-stars Shawn Ashmore, Natalie Zea, Valorie Curry and Jeananne Goossen.
